A friend tipped me off today that another Winnipeg kids’ shop and family centre has closed its doors. Lux for Sprouts announced on Facebook on Oct 23rd that it would be closing effective immediately. This is a real shame; the store carried beautiful, high-quality baby and kids gear and I am sad to see them go, and their playgroups and programming will be sorely missed by many Winnipeg families.

I got an email notice today with some sad news: Purely Baby is closing. I never got a chance to attend programming or use any of their services, and I’m bummed because just the other day I made loose plans with a friend to attend a Moms Renewal class together.

As I wrote a few months ago at Winnipeg o’ My Heart, Becky Heather, the founder of Purely Baby, was my instructor for prenatal classes. I thought she had a wonderful vision with Purely Baby, and really hoped that she would be successful. There are always stumbling blocks on the road to success and I know that all the folks who worked out of the centre will continue their great work elsewhere. Still, a tough day, and my thoughts go out to all those affected.
